Real Time Mystery (Featuring Billy Sherwood)

by Jeremy Cubert

about

"A Real Time Mystery" is a song co-written with Billy Sherwood of Yes. Billy wrote the lyrics, sang, and played all the guitar parts. I have updated the song over the past few years and, most recently, Bruce Lebovitz added some wonderful violin parts.

lyrics

"A Real Time Mystery"

The journey is taken alone
And there is no clear path home
A destiny that's been defined
By the empty spaces left behind

Moments lost in time, valleys of the mind

Walking the fine line, between two worlds
It's thoughts you can't recall, as if they never were at all

The solitary nature of it all
When memories of your own you can't recall
Set a drift upon the endless seas, over the edge of reality

Moments lost in time, valleys of the mind
Moments lost in time, valleys of the mind

In a real time mystery,
Set a drift upon the endless seas, over the edge of reality In a real time mystery

Like sailing into waters unknown
With no charts in hand, no sign of land
In a real time mystery
The surreal nature of it all
Deeper into your mind you fall, you fall....

The journey is taken alone
And there is no clear path home
A destiny that's been defined
By the empty spaces left behind

The solitary nature of it all
When your own memories you can't recall

A road that seems to have no end
Alone until rescued again
A road that seems to have no end
Alone until rescued again
Riding the waves, hoping to reach someone
Somehow, someway, someday
In a real time mystery
